Google probably fully fixes Android Clock app

Google appears to finally fix Android Clock app which failed to work for a week.

In a post from its representative on Reddit, Google said the issue will no longer happen if you download the updates of both the Google Clock app and Spotify.

Despite the update 6.4.1 on September 8, the Android Clock app still failed to set off alarms as expected, suggesting that Google has yet to fully patch the issue.

The error appears to have begun with a previous app update, which resulted in an influx of criticism from countless users in a Reddit post, then forcing Google to find out the cause and work on the fix.

Google is aware of the problem. It recommended that users stop using Spotify for alarm sounds, and turn to sounds within their device for alarms while waiting for the fix to roll out.

Google and Spotify announced their partnership in 2018, with the offering of alarm sounds that can wake users with their favourite music as the first project.

Accordingly, users do not need to subscribe to Spotify to enjoy this service when they install both Spotify and Clock app on their phones.
